Behind Chop & Slice is a small team of two: Ieva and Benjamin, a couple living in the beautiful country of Denmark. We are an economist and an engineer by profession and we both love cooking, so we decided to share our favorite recipes. Once we made the decision to start a food website we considered a few options on what the philosophy of the website should be, but we quickly realized that there was only one way to go: this blog is an honest portrait of our own approach to cooking. We are open to new ingredients and try to explore new dishes regularly. We keep a balance between practicality and tradition. We all live busy lives, so sometimes it is nice to have a quick recipe at hand and enjoy a tasty and nourishing meal even on a busy day.
Therefore, in this website you will find recipes suggesting to use store-bought pie dough and pasta, or frozen spinach and vegetables. We are not very strict with ingredients because we like to explore different flavors. That’s how we enjoy cooking, what we have found to work best for us, and sincerely we hope that it will work great for you too.
Being eager explorers of food websites and cooking books ourselves, we have had both great and not so great experiences when trying new recipes. While it is nearly impossible to write recipes that absolutely everyone will like, we will always try our best to share dishes that we think you will like. So, in this blog you will only find recipes that we enjoy cooking and eating. We will be honest about what we have tried or not, and about what we like or not.
