Crispy roasted cauliflower is a healthy, easy to make snack that is perfect for parties and get-togethers. Not only is it super crunchy and satisfying but it is completely vegan and works wonderfully with your favorite dips!

Crispy roasted Cauliflower

It’s fair to think of this dish as a vegan version of nuggets. They have a similar feel and look, and can be spiced up with hot sauces or dipped in cream or snack dips. Thus, we recommend that you prepare or get a little something on the side: a dip, sriracha sauce, mayo… You get the point 🙂

Crispy roasted Cauliflower

We use a small amount of spices in this recipe that result in a tasty, balanced flavor that complements that cauliflower pretty well. If you want a stronger flavor, or you want to serve the crispy roasted cauliflower alongside a particular dip though, feel free to use a different blend of spices.

Crispy roasted Cauliflower

Ingredients

  • 1 cauliflower head
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (e.g.: Panko)

Instructions

  1. Cut the cauliflower into bite-sized florets.
  2. Mix the flour and all the spices in a large bowl. Then add water and mix until you get a smooth batter.
  3. Preheat the oven to 350 ℉ (180 ℃) with convection (fan).
  4. Coat the cauliflower florets with batter, and then roll them on the breadcrumbs to cover generously.
  5. Place the cauliflower on a baking tray leaving some space in between florets and put them in the oven. Bake for 25 minutes until crispy. Done!

Notes

  • Prep time: 10 minutes.
  • Cooking time: 20 minutes.
  • Skip the cayenne pepper if you wish.
