Italian sausage pasta

This recipe is quite easy to make, and a few adaptations can be made if you wish to. You are free to skip the red wine and substitute it with chicken or vegetable broth, and you can make the sauce more thick or thin by simmering longer or adding pasta water. You may also add heavy cream to make the sauce more creamy and comforting. Your pasta, your choice!

Serve your sausage pasta with a sprinkle of Parmesan and some fresh basil for an authentic Italian finish. It pairs beautifully with a crisp salad or a side of garlic bread to soak up every bit of the sauce. Whether you’re cooking for family, friends, or just yourself, this dish delivers all the comfort and flavor of classic Italian cooking.

  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 cup red wine or chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 can chopped tomatoes
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/4 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 cup pasta water

  • Grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)

  2. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package directions for al dente.
  3. Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil and fry the Italian sausage for 5 minutes or until cooked through stirring occasionally.
