Are you ready for the easiest Asian dish ever? Peanut butter and Hoisin chicken is super tasty and enjoyable, yet incredibly easy to make! There’s no doubt that you will be coming back to this dish again and again. 🙂

Try to use peanut butter with a high peanut content and as little as possible of other flavors. Avoid using sweetened peanut butter, especially. This will help you control the taste, particularly since hoisin sauce is also a bit sweet.
Hoisin sauce is a fragrant, thick sauce originally from China. It contains fermented soybeans, vinegar and sesame oil, among other ingredients. It has a unique, semi-sweet flavor and works great for glazing meat. If you are a bit worried about trying it, there’s nothing to worry about! It is vegan, containing no animal-based products and no chilies, so there’s no heat.

It is fine to replace the chicken thighs with breast. Chicken thighs are more flavorful than breasts, but they also contain a bit more fat, so using breasts as a substitute is a great option if you wish to eat less fat. Just cut the breast into bite-sized chunks and be mindful not to overcook it.

For those of us who like it hot, this peanut butter and Hoisin chicken recipe works wonderfully with some heat. Feel free to add chili flakes when making the sauce or, if not everyone likes chili, have some Sriracha sauce ready at the table.
